Ionian Kefalonia Flotilla
Explore the Southern Ionian with Epic Locations
Building on past success, our Kefalonia flotilla departs from Aghia Eufimia, an ideal base for exploring the southern Ionian islands, including Zakynthos and Ithaca. Launching farther south gives us a competitive edge, allowing a more adventurous route and exploration of unique destinations.
The Zante route heads south to Zakynthos town and Aghios Nikolaos, while the Kefalonia route explores the north and west sides of the island, including Vathi on Ithaca, Fiskardho, Assos to the west, or Vassiliki on Lefkas before a beach party in a beautiful bay.
With longer sailing distances, this route challenges loyal Ionian clients, offering another way to enjoy this beloved region we know so well. Click on the icons below to zoom to the different parts of the page.

Area Information
Nestled in the Ionian Sea, Kefalonia, Ithaka, and Zante each offer a unique allure. Kefalonia, the largest, boasts diverse landscapes from the cliffs of Myrtos Beach to the enchanting Melissani Cave. Ithaka, with its ties to Homer’s Odyssey, charms with Vathi’s picturesque harbor and serene hills. Zante, or Zakynthos, dazzles with vibrant beaches like Shipwreck Cove and the lively Zakynthos Town.
These Ionian gems promise a harmonious blend of cultural richness, natural splendor, and inviting waters. From Kefalonia’s grandeur to Ithaka’s timeless charm and Zante’s vibrant allure, these islands invite exploration into their diverse wonders within the azure embrace of the Ionian Sea.
Weather & Sailing Conditions
The Ionian islands enjoy a wonderful climate, and you can be virtually assured of great weather and warm temperatures during the flotilla season. Winds on the Kefalonia flotilla are gentle to moderate, with strengths of force 2-5, occasionally a little more in open water. For those accustomed to the calm waters to the east of Lefkas and Kefalonia, the open waters can often have a little more of a swell, particularly further south. Sea temperatures rise from 20 degrees in May to 23 or 24 in August and September, perfect for swimming.
Routes
The Kefalonia Flotilla runs two separate routes with odd weeks sailing the Kefalonia Route and even weeks sailing the Zante Route. Full details of these two routes are below, please note you can combine the two into an epic two week holiday.
